Reaching prospects in creative ways.

After undergoing a brand and website refresh, the technology division of Cochran decided to ramp up its marketing efforts by developing a series of case studies to highlight noteworthy projects.

Cochran contracted with Marisa Rodriguez to develop a templated design, interview clients and work with Cochran’s in-house technology staff to write a series of case studies about technology design and installation projects in the northwest.

The case studies were then added to a portfolio of case studies on Cochran’s website, emailed out to prospective customers and printed and delivered during personal sales calls.

Even large companies need a little outside writing expertise.

As the go-to freelance writer for John L. Scott Real Estate for a number of years, Marisa Rodriguez was called upon to write materials for all aspects of the company’s business, including internal and external sales materials.

Information on the basics for buying and selling a home, CMA tools, mortgage and lending brochures were all used by John L. Scott’s 4,000 Realtors to use with their customers. Recruiting brochures and training class updates were written to entice agents to work for the company and to promote agent education classes.

In 2008, when homeowners were unsure how they would be affected by the economy, John L. Scott commissioned Marisa Rodriguez to write a whitepaper entitled “Why Now Is A Smart Time To Buy” to clearly explain the state of the market to the company’s customers. Posted for several months on www.johnlscott.com in the beginning of 2008, the whitepaper was distributed by virtually every one of the company’s 4,000 agents to their customers and was mentioned in blogs, used in advertising and excerpted in a number of industry publications.

As staff writer for the global telecommunications manufacturer Leviton Telcom in the late 1990s, Marisa Rodriguez was called upon to write materials for the company’s industry-wide promotion, including company catalog copy, trade magazine article and ads.

Teknon

New marketing for an old reliable.

Teknon, a 30-year old technologies and electrical contractor has been so successful at business, that the company has never really done any marketing. All of their business has been through good old fashioned referrals and face-to-face prospecting.

In 2013-2014, they made the decision to broaden their reach by developing marketing materials to target more prospects. They started out by requesting two brochures to hand and email to prospects and then followed that by working with Marisa Rodriguez on the development of positioning and messaging strategy and an 18-month marketing plan.

Imprev

Small company raises profile with public relations efforts.

Lacking in a concentrated marketing and advertising strategy, Imprev chose to increase awareness of the company’s services through the use of ghost-written articles and prominent ads in several real estate trade publications.

Marisa Rodriguez ghostwrote an article for the president of the company which appeared in Realty Success Magazine entitled “Virtually Indispensable”. It addressed the very real disconnect between what real estate agents provide their customers and what their customers wanted to see.

A 10 page special section for RIS Real Estate Magazine on the Top 10 Trends in Real Estate of Year also worked to position the company as a thought-leader in the industry.

Dynamic Language

Local translation and interpretation company speaks with prospects in their own language with a marketing campaign.

When Dynamic Language wanted outside expertise to develop a marketing plan and tagline, they worked with Marisa Rodriguez. In implementing the marketing plan, website copy was re-written and a series of brochures was produced.

Follow-up and follow-through delivers information to target audience.

United Reprographics’ revenue has been growing steadily since the start of business, but the company didn’t want to rest on its laurels. They agreed with our recommendation that a mail campaign and new brochures were the best way to tout their services to prospects and customers. For the mail campaign, we incorporated eye-catching images on oversized postcards to ensure that the company’s message cut through the noise. The brochures are unique in the industry and allow them to stand-out among their competition.
